Using recording functions Serato DJ has recording functions and can record mixed sound. For detailed instructions on recording, see the Serato DJ software manual. 1 Open the [REC] panel. When you click [REC] again, recording stops. Front panel 3 Save the recorded result. Enter the file name in the text field and click the [SAVE] button. ! You can select the file format and bit depth using the [RECORDING] screen, which is displayed by selecting the [DJ Preferences] tab in the [SETUP] menu of Serato DJ. ! Saved recorded files are stored in Crates named “Recording”. 1 1 2 3 4 2 3 3 2 4 Using the DVS function If you purchase the separately available Serato DVS Expansion Packs, it is possible to operate the “Serato DJ” deck using a DJ player or analog turntable. The sound can be adjusted with the [EQ (HI, MID, LOW)] controls, and filter effects can be applied to the respective channels with the [FILTER] control. The sound volume of channels for which the [INPUT SELECT] switch is set to [MIC1] or [MIC2] does not change even when the crossfader is moved. Using external inputs Four external input systems are provided to connect to a DJ player or analog turntable. The 4-Channel Mixer of this unit can mix externally input sounds without using a computer. The following mixer functions can be operated without connecting to a computer. Notes ! ! For details on the respective items, see Connections (p.7) and Part names and functions (p.9). The functions below do not work with respect to external inputs. — Track tempo setting (pressing the headphones [CUE] button while pressing the [SHIFT] button) — Fader start function (while pressing the [SHIFT] button, move the channel fader or cross fader) — Applying Serato DJ software effects The values adjusted with the various controls for the Serato DJ software differ from values adjusted for the external input. Mixing the sound of a DJ player, etc. 1 Connect the DJ player or other line level output device to the [CD] or [PHONO/LINE] terminals. 2 Set the [INPUT SELECT] switch to [CD] or [LINE]. 3 Operate the [TRIM] control and the channel faders to adjust the audio level output from the respective decks. ! The sound can be adjusted with the [EQ (HI, MID, LOW)] controls, and filter effects can be applied to the respective channels with the [FILTER] control. ! Mixer section INST. DOUBLES INST.
