1. Introduction Using Splice Sounds, the TORAIZ SP-16/DJS-1000 users can use the world’s largest collection of high quality samples and loops with unlimited inspiration. You can pick your favorite individual samples from the Splice Sounds Catalog of over 1 million sounds from world-class providers, build and save custom sample kits, and program 32-step sequences on the web or on mobile devices using Beatmaker, Splice’s online sequencer. You can easily export your custom sample kits and sequences to the TORAIZ SP-16/DJS-1000 with a click of the button. Simply download your creations on the cloud to your laptop or a USB drive, connect the TORAIZ SP-16/DJS-1000 via USB and transfer the scene files. Then you can use the features and FX of the TORAIZ SP-16/DJS-1000 to manipulate your sounds further. 2. Check Your Firmware Version To use Splice Sounds with the TORAIZ SP-16, the firmware version of the TORAIZ SP-16 must be 1.30 or later. Follow the instructions below to check the TORAIZ SP-16 firmware version. [Check the firmware version of TORAIZ SP-16] 1. Turn on the power of the unit. 2. Tap UTILITY in the HOME screen. The UTILITY screen appears. 3. Turn the rotary selector to scroll down to the second row from the bottom. There, you will be able to see the firmware version number currently running on the unit. *Make sure the version is ver.1.30 or later. If not, please download the latest version from here. Please read the Firmware Update Guide to learn how to update the firmware. 4. Tap UTILITY again to exit the UTILITY screen. *You can use Splice Sounds with any firmware version of DJS-1000. 2
